A delicious way to consume healthy nuts and seeds
Nuts and seeds can sometimes be undervalued in the human diet. Nuts are one of the most naturally antioxidant-rich foods and seeds are one of the richest sources of vitamin E. They contain an impressive array of vitamins and minerals beneficial to humans. This easy and delicious recipe is a great way of getting in some nuts and seeds into our diet.

Suggested Nut and Seed Pairing
You can really use whatever nuts and seeds you already enjoy. Usually we pick 3 -4
- Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, and pecans are a good source of protein and omega-3s.
- Pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, pine nuts, cashews, almonds and sunflower seeds are great sources of zinc.
- Walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds and brazil nuts are particularly rich in antioxidants.
- If you seed cycle, use sunflower and sesame seeds during the luteal phase, and pumpkin and flax seed during the follicular phase.
How to Make a Nut and Seed Chocolate Bark
- Gather all your ingredients.
- Chop the chocolate and nuts.
- Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or the microwave.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and pour the melted chocolate, save a little to drizzle the top.
- Sprinkle the nuts and seeds over the melted chocolate.
- Drizzle the remaining chocolate over the top.
- Let the chocolate cool down and harden.
- Once the chocolate has hardened, break it into pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
How to Melt Chocolate
Here are two methods you can choose for melting chocolate.
Double Boiler Method
- Use a pot with water and a bowl that can sit on top of the pot.
- When the water boils, add chocolate to the bowl that is sitting on top of the pot.
- Keep stirring the chocolate until it melts. Be careful not to over heat the chocolate.
Microwave Method
This is the easiest and our preferred method to melt chocolate.
- Using a microwave safe bowl, add chocolates and microwave for 30 second intervals.
- After every 30 seconds stir the chocolate.
- Length of time will depend on your microwave and the amount of chocolate, but as long as you check every 30 seconds you will be fine.
Storing
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
