Juicing without a juicer is simple. With just a bit of time, you can easily prepare juice for the entire week!
Why Juice Ginger?
Juicing ginger makes it convenient to consume. You can freeze it in ice trays, making it easier to meal prep and allowing ginger to last much longer. Additionally, ginger adds a refreshing and zesty flavor to juices, enhancing their taste and nutritional value.
What Benefits Does Ginger Have?
- Contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that support our immune function.
- Aids digestion and reduces nausea.
What Do I Need to Juice Without a Juicer?
- A blender
- Cheese cloth or a fine mesh strainer
- A bottle or ice cube tray to store
How to Make Ginger Juice With a Blender
- Wash the ginger under cold water. Use your hands or a scrubber to remove any dirt. (If you want to peel your ginger before juicing you can skip this step. We honestly very rarely peel ginger for juicing, especially if it's organic.)
- Chop the ginger into chunks.
- Place in blender with water. Blend.
- Remove pulp with a cheese cloth or strainer. Making sure to squeeze the pulp in order to get all the juices out.
- Transfer to a container.
How to Peel Ginger
If you choose to peel the ginger, simply use a spoon to scrape off the skin. We find this technique works easier than a peeler.
How Much to Dilute
Since this recipe consists of just fresh ginger root and water, it can be tricky to know exactly how much of the sharp ginger taste to dilute. This is obviously a personal preference, and we usually switch it up depending on what we will be using the juice for.
For this recipe we used a piece of ginger about 2-3 inches long and 1 cup of water. Feel free to adjust to your liking.
How Long Does Ginger Juice Last?
If you store it in the fridge, it will be fine for a week or so. If you freeze it into ice cube trays and store them in an airtight container they can last months in the freezer.
What Can I Use Ginger Pulp For?
You can freeze and use the ginger pulp as a tea or in stir-fries! Store in an airtight container.
