Oh boy do we love mangoes! My parents were just visiting us from Miami and brought us a massive box of mangoes, freshly picked from their backyard. It was inevitable that we would make a salsa. It’s so light, juicy, and refreshingly sweet, this mango avocado salsa is everything you need to beat the Florida heat. Perfect for your next summer hangout, when the sun’s blazing and the mangoes and avocado’s are at their prime.

Ingredients
This recipe is so simple, uses just 7 ingredients (if you don’t count salt)! No need to really measure anything either. This is just one of those recipes you can easily modify and eyeball a few ingredients to have the balance of flavors and texture you like.

bell pepper

cilantro
lime

How to cut a mango
Using your non-dominant hand, hold the mango vertically over a cutting board. Use a knife to cut off the two “cheeks” around the large pit in the middle.
Score the inside of the mango vertically and horizontally, making sure not to cut through the skin.
Press the back side so the flesh pokes out, like in the image above.
Use a knife to trim the pieces off.
Cut around the large oval pit. Remove the skin and dice the remaining flesh of the mango.
Suck on the juicy pit over the sink before tossing.
How to store
Store the mango salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 – 3 days tops. We recommend consuming withing 1-2 days after making it for best taste, texture and color.
