  • 3 organic bananas (ripe)
  • 4 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp oil (for frying)

Sandwich

  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 banana (sliced)
  • butter (for grilling)

Instructions

Banana Peel Bacon

  • Wash and peel ripe bananas
  • Use a spoon to scrape the insides of the peel and cut peels to your preferred width
  • Make the marinade by combining soy sauce, maple syrup, paprika and garlic powder
  • Add peels to marinade and let it sit for 10 minutes
  • Heat up a frying pan with oil and fry the peels for a few minutes on each side. Drizzle some of the remaining marinade to the peels as they cook
  • Remove the peels from the pan onto a dish with some paper towels to soak up the excess oil

Elvis Sandwich

  • Slice the banana and spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Spread a thick layer of peanut butter on one slice of bread and lay the sliced banana and banana peel bacon on the peanut butter and top with the other slice of bread.
  • Fry or grill the sandwich on medium-high heat.
  • Slice in half and enjoy.
